Secure video appointments are available for established and new patients in Minnesota who prefer not to travel to a clinic or whose schedules require greater flexibility. Telehealth at North Star Health uses a HIPAA-compliant platform integrated with our clinical records system, ensuring that the documentation and coordination standards that apply to in-person visits apply equally to remote ones. Not all services are appropriate for telehealth delivery, and our intake team will advise honestly when an in-person evaluation is clinically preferable.

Availability varies by service type and clinician. Psychiatric evaluations, which require a longer initial block, may have a longer lead time than psychotherapy intakes. Is telehealth available for all services, including psychiatric medication management?
Telehealth via secure video is available for many of our services, including medication management visits for established patients and individual psychotherapy. Some initial psychiatric evaluations are conducted in person by clinician preference, as a structured in-person intake supports more thorough assessment. Your care coordinator will clarify what applies to your specific service at the time of scheduling.
What credentials do the clinicians at North Star Health hold?
Prescribing clinicians are board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrists or psychiatric nurse practitioners licensed in Minnesota. Psychotherapists hold independent licensure at the level of licensed psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, or licensed professional clinical counselor, each of which requires supervised post-graduate hours and a qualifying examination. Credentials are verified at hire and maintained through ongoing continuing education requirements as a condition of practice membership.
